THE EVENT
The Day
Throughout Regatta Day on Rivermead Island in Lower Sunbury, there is something available for the whole family.
The island opens at 9am, when racing starts. Come along and support. There are serious contenders from local rowing clubs, as well as more lighthearted competition with the "Row for Your Local" teams battling on the water.
There are stalls, sideshows and games which take place on the lawn throughout the day - click here for more information.
Also look out for the Tug-o-War competition, which yields some enthusiastic competition.
The Evening
The island is re-opened at 7pm, to allow people to take their places for the evening entertainment. This starts at 9pm, with an Illuminated Sailpast provide by the Middle Thames Yacht Club and is followed by a fantastic firework display over the river.
Best views of the Illuminated Boats and the Fireworks can be gained from Rivermead Island, Kings Lawn (200m down Thames Street towards Shepperton), or from one of Sunbury's riverside pubs.
