FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA - PLEASE HELP
If additional funding is not found for the fireworks, Sunbury Regatta's firework display will be the last one ever this year.
The Regatta relies on donations to support the fireworks and, over the last 5 years, we have not even covered half the cost from the bucket collections. The Regatta Committee has subsidised the fireworks for several years now but, with ever rising costs and further demands from Health & Safety, the Committee can no longer cover the costs.
Vice Chairman, Edward Hankey said; "The Regatta costs in excess of £30,000 for the event and funding is at an all time low. If spectators do not dig deep this year we will be unable to provide the fireworks next year."
The Regatta is Sunbury's premier event, organised by a group of volunteers. if you would like more information, please contact us.
