This year, Sunbury Regatta took a different form. Due to insufficient numbers of volunteers coming forward, the Committee decided to focus on delivering a fantastic racing event but not the lawn entertainment. This meant Skiff Racing only was be held on the Saturday, we were unable to offer punting or dongoling. Skiff Racing was held under the rules of the Skiff Racing Association and the course length was 600m.
The Junior Regatta was on Sunday 14th and as usual.
The island was open to all, free-of-charge and the community came together to enjoy the racing and support the competitors, inspiring the next generation to get on the water.
We hope to return in 2024 with a full Sunbury Regatta experience but we need volunteers to come forward to make this possible. We have a number of vacant roles, from Bar Manager to Treasurer as well as build and breakdown teams. If you think you can help, please do get in touch. Thank you.
